Test & validation Software Engineer

DESKi and HeartFocus Description:

DESKi has built HeartFocus, a revolutionary, AI-driven heart exam software that empowers any healthcare professional to perform world-class echos from any device, anywhere. Driven by the belief No heart can wait ™, HeartFocus provides a life-saving solution for heart patients, facilitating early detection and disease prevention. After 4 years of research and having secured its financing, DESKi will start commercialization in 2025, FDA and CE applications are pending. We are seeking a Test & Validation Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, and performance of our medical device and internal software.

Mission

As a software engineer in testing and validation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our medical software devices running on iOS/Android and internal software such as web applications. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including product owner, software developers, quality assurance specialists, and regulatory experts, to design, implement, and execute comprehensive testing and validation strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for DESKi's software products, covering functional, performance, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with the development team to identify and document software defects, design flaws, and work closely to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform manual testing of software applications to ensure accuracy, stability, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Design and maintain test environments replicating real-world scenarios and conditions of use.
• Design and create automated tests with software developers
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure that our testing practices remain aligned with best practices.
• Participate in reviews and drafting of regulatory requirements.

Experience & qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software testing and validation in the medical devices industry or a similar regulated environment.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
• In-depth understanding of software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, XRay, Gherkin and Git.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Fluent in French and proficient in professional English (spoken and written).
