DESKi and HeartFocus was founded by two brothers, Bertrand and Olivier MOAL

DESKi was founded in 2016, by Bertrand and Olivier MOAL, two brothers from France, with a medical and engineering background and mindset.

Initially, they delivered AI services for healthcare companies, but in 2020, they decided to created their own software product focused on ultrasound and cardiac care. They created HeartFocus in 2023.

Bertrand MOAL

Bertrand, a Medical Doctor with a PhD in biomechanical engineering, and Olivier, a Berkeley and EPFL engineering alum, were moved by the devastating impact of cardiovascular disease exacerbated by increasingly overburdened healthcare systems.

Both intrigued by Machine learning and AI technology, they set out to develop an algorithm to guarantee superior image quality for echoes. Thereby removing the first barrier to taking on heart disease. This lead to their first algorithm, and product, HeartFocus.
